When you’re setting up your retail product displays, one type of display you may find particularly useful, no matter what you’re selling, is slatwall. What is slatwall? It’s a type of building material that you probably recognize from retail stores you have visited. It’s also known as slotwall, and consists of a number of parallel, horizontal panels with grooves between them. The panels can be made from a variety of materials, but typical retail slatwall panels are made out of medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Usually there is a finish on both sides.

What’s so great about slatwall? There are a number of advantages of slatwall retail display systems. These fixtures are very nice to look at, for starters. They are aesthetically pleasing with their simple, clean, horizontal lines. There is less “noise” visually when you look at slatwall than there is when you look at gridwall. That makes it easier for the items you are showcasing to stand out, rather than fade into the backdrop. So slatwall makes your items easier to see, and it gives your store a clean, focused appearance which makes customers feel comfortable and relaxed.
