Traditionally, most of us think of gifts as items which we give to family and friends. But a gift does not have to be an item. If you’re looking for ideas for non-clutter Christmas gifts or non-clutter gifts for any occasion, here are some to consider:

• Gift certificates or money. While these may not be the most personal gifts in the world, they are undeniably among the most useful. They also have the benefit of not taking up space.

• Subscriptions. There are any number of subscriptions which can add to a person’s life. In fact, depending on how selective you are, this may be a more personal gift than a gift certificate or cash.

• Home organizing supplies. Plastic containers for storing clothes, books, toys and other items can be an excellent clutter-free gift. These types of supplies can even help someone to tidy up their existing clutter.

• Activities. There are a lot of ways you can gift someone with activities to enjoy. You could purchase them a ticket to a sports game or a concert, or you could buy them a pass to a museum or a park. A lot of people have a hard time paying for these types of entertainment expenses on their own. Items can quickly turn into unwanted clutter, but a day at the museum or park can become a lifelong memory. You can even splurge and purchase an annual pass for a park lover, which is an awesome gift that keeps on giving. Here are some other pass ideas: the zoo, a water park, a theme park, a climbing gym, a bowling alley, etc.

• Lessons. Taking classes, whether academic or in something sports or crafting, is not something that everyone can afford at the drop of a hat. Purchase someone a set of yoga lessons, dance lessons, pottery lessons, or so forth, and you are buying them an experience and an opportunity to learn. You might even be opening social doors.

• Movies and TV shows. Whether you purchase these in digital form or as DVDs or Blu-Ray discs, they do not take up a huge amount of space, but they do provide a ton of value. Video games also can make excellent gifts in this respect.

• Technology. Purchasing someone a new smartphone, MP3 player, or so on is not going to take up a lot of space, but it will again provide extensive value. A single device may be able to perform a multitude of functions, and might actually be able to replace larger, older devices which are currently taking up a lot of space.

Now you have some fantastic clutter-free gift ideas! You do not have to give up exchanging gifts just because you are trying to clean clutter out of your house, or someone you care about has the same goal. If you are still looking for more ideas, read on to What are the Best Non-Clutter Gifts?
