If you’re tired of having to search your kitchen from floor to ceiling to find what you’re looking for, it’s time to re-organize. Cooking dinner doesn’t have to take as long when you know where everything is, and you’re less likely to mess up a recipe when you need to find a utensil or an ingredient in a hurry. Here are some simple kitchen organization tips that can help you to be more productive while you’re preparing your meals.

Kitchen organization solutions start with stocking up on useful supplies such as a kitchen utensil holder and other plastic bins for your drawers to keep items organized and easy to find. These bins will not only keep your smaller kitchen accessories within easy reach, but will also protect the wood of your drawers.

Make a list of the items you keep in your kitchen and how often you use each of them. Items you use most often need to be readily accessible, while items you use rarely can be put farther out of the way. You will use this as the basis for any functional kitchen organization scheme. Utensils, can openers, spatulas and other kitchen items like knives and forks belong in top drawers; items you use less often, like specialized utensils, belong in the lower drawers.
