• A few sturdy shelves are all you need to transform a small section of a wall or an otherwise useless little nook into a functional home office—even if you can only use part of a room for your office space. Have a small space between a couple of windows which you are not using for anything else? Think about just installing several shelves along the wall. Make the lowest shelf longer than the rest, so that you can put your computer on it or use it as your desk, and place a chair in front of that. Use clear plastic bins to organize office supplies on the shelves above.

You may think that a home office is impossible if you live in a small apartment or in another situation where you don’t have a lot of space to spare, but how creatively you use your space determines what you can do with it. If you have a space-saving organizational system with filing cabinets, shelving, and organizational storage bins, you can sort your supplies and paperwork, eliminate clutter, and free up enough space to do your work.
