Struggling to organize your closet? One of the most tedious and difficult tasks is finding a way to organize your undergarments. It is way too easy for underwear to come unfolded, and when it does, it just loves to get all tangled together. So how can you effectively organize your underwear drawer in such a way that you can actually find everything at a glance without messing it all up? Here are some clever underwear organizing ideas to try!

1. Make a back-of-door bra organizer

First of all, if you have bras in your underwear drawer, get them out of there completely. You should generally avoid storing bras in drawers, because it is way too easy for them to lose their shape. This happens gradually with wear anyway, but the less you can deform a bra while storing it, the longer it is going to last (and I don’t need to tell you how expensive they are to replace).

Plus, bras are another type of garment which tends to get all tangled up with others, and that can be a real pain.

So what can you do with them to store them? One clever idea is to set up a back-of-door bra organizer. To do this, get those wooden hangers which have a little metal loop through the bottom. Hang a row of them from the top of your closet door to the bottom, each from the next. Then hang a bra on each one. Your bras are now out of your drawers, and they will last a lot longer. So this solves two problems at once.

2. Use PVC pipes underwear.

So how can you tackle the mess of your underwear? One clever idea is to put a lot of small PVC pipes inside your drawer and stuff underwear into each of them. This looks nice and neat, and it is a simple, fun, easy solution.

3. Get a plastic container with dividers for drawers.

There is only one problem with the PVC pipe idea … and that is that you end up actually wasting a lot of space between each of the pipes! So a better idea—perhaps not as original as the pipes, but more functional—is to purchase a plastic box with dividers and put that inside your drawer. Put your underwear into the separate compartments, and they will stay neat and organized while you effectively utilize all of your drawer space.

Why not use cloth drawer organizers? They do have their benefits, but they are a lot less sturdy, and if your drawer is stuffed really full, they may actually just get squashed by your underwear. At that point, they are not really doing their job containing everything neatly.
