If you live in a small space like a studio apartment, you can quickly find out that there is no room for you to come home to once your stuff starts to pile up. For many people, an apartment is a collection of messy piles. In one corner there’s your dirty laundry. In another, there’s your bills, receipts, and other accounting clutter. In another corner you have a pile of clean clothes, and elsewhere there’s the mess of your kitchen. What are some tips to organize your apartment?

Each part of your life will need to be organized. Let’s start with your clothing, both clean and dirty. Instead of keeping all your clothing in piles, try storing it in clear plastic bins. A plastic laundry basket keeps your dirty laundry pile from spreading out and also keeps you from waiting too long to wash your clothes. You can keep clean clothes in bins, too. While shirts and dresses can hang on hangars, things like socks and underwear can’t. If you purchase some plastic bins with lids however or even some plastic drawers, you can store your socks and underwear neatly. A shoe rack can put the finishing touch on your closet and free up floor space.
