Looking for green office tips which will help you to protect the environment in the workplace? The office is one area where you can easily make a difference. It may not feel like much, but it adds up when workplaces around the world make similar efforts. It all has to start somewhere, and it can start with your office. Here are some tips to help you go green at work.

• Turn off lights in rooms where you are not using them. If you get enough light through the windows, don’t turn them on at all. Replace outmoded light bulbs with Energy Star-rated ones that save energy and money. Make the switch to LED lights and you’ll save even more.

• Also turn off computers when they are not in use; and when you leave the office for the night, turn off the power strip too. Also change the energy settings on your computer so that your computer goes to sleep automatically when you are not using it. You can also set your screen to go black before it even goes to sleep. Taking these steps not only will save energy, but also extend the lifetime of your technology.
