Aside from your inventory room, your break room is probably the hardest room to keep organized in your office. It’s a difficult task for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it’s a room where many people come and go all day, and everyone moves and uses things in the break room. It’s hard to compel people to put things back where they found them, and then no one else can find them (which wastes time and makes the office less efficient). That’s why organizing your break room is one of the top office efficiency tips. The other reason that the break room poses difficulties is that it’s where your employees come to relax. As such they tend to impose that relaxed attitude on their surroundings, resulting in disorder. Here are some tips to keep the break room from becoming a break from office efficiency:

• Store items intuitively to minimize searching. This means that items that are used a lot should be kept either on the counter or in shelves which are easy to reach, while items that don’t need to be used often or which are part of your backstock should be kept higher or further back on your shelves. You can even consider storing backstock of coffee packets inside plastic bins in your inventory room.
