4. Help your child to wire up the station if applicable. Older children may need to use the computer to work on assignments, and when your child moves onto secondary school, a computer workstation will be a must. So you may want to plan to set up the homework station near an outlet, even if your child doesn’t need the computer for school just yet. Eventually that day will come.

Homework is challenging for any student to focus on, but it’s a lot easier when you create an environment which is conducive to study. Each child has unique needs in this regard, so get some feedback from your child and observe your child’s study habits. If you work together to create the homework station, you will have even more success. You will probably be able to observe the impact of the homework station on your child’s success just by looking at your child’s grades!
